Janett Rice shows us Magical Medallion made from a hand-dyed piece of silk in the center, and using organza embellishments.

Thelma Moore shows us the quilt she is making for her grand daughter's going to college quilt.

Thelma displays a lovely hat made of panels she made on her embroidery machine. Her first and last, she says!

Sharon Jansson embroidered all the countries her husband has visited on the back of his vest.

Ramona Finocchiaro made this beautiful skirt from a pattern by Rosemary Jameson Sewfast Designs.

Then she found a top to match, and already had the shawl. Even her shoes matched!

Angie Sohnly shows us her Shades of Purple with Buds. Lots of embellishment going on here! I'm not sure if it was a challenge piece, Angie, so I put it here!

Angie also completed a landscape with 3-dimensional fringe on the bottom.

Ann Pugh shows us photographs of the original piece below that she has done cut and paste with to explore more design opportunities with less risks.

This is the original piece. I know, the photo above should come next, but it doesn't!

Ann Pugh displays the results of a past "round robin" project. More about round robins below.

Another of Ann's round robin quilts.

Rickie Seifried shows us a landscape called "Good Morning World" she did as a result of a recent class with Janett Rice. Her goal was to use horizontal composition.

Rickie went to Dena Crain's class also, then pushed things one step further by adding frogs. She calls it Singing in the Rain.

Guest Gail displayed some of her jewelry

Gail also brought an embellished denim jacket to show us.

Ida Connors is displaying her class project from Dena Crain's class, which she calls designer pinwheels.

Janet is very excited about this new book!

Karen Garth shows us her Spirit Star done with Quiltique's ugly fabrics. Certainly not ugly!!!

Here's Karen Garth's Dena Crain work in progress!

Karen has been taking online classes from http://www.quiltuniversity.com/
and has been learning to dye fabrics with various methods.

Below are the entries for the Round Robin project as put together by some of our members. These pieces will be exchanged and we'll see them again with more specific borders, colors, and a travelling notebook for each, as I understand!

Below are the mentioned photos, but I seem to have lost Karin's. :(

Challenge

Our Challenge as issued this past month was to create a monochromatic piece of artwork. Since several of us took Joen Wolfrom's color class, we have discovered that only one slice of pie from the color wheel can be used, and any tints or shades or tones.

Karin Serra brought this piece which she had made in previous years as an example of a true monochromatic work. It's all black on black, and she even made the polymer clay on the unusual closure.

Thelma Moore's red/orange with beads.

Janett Rice Limeade

Marka Harwell Bentley is showing Margaret Illion's piece.

Marka Harwell Bentley shows us her White is for Memory with some of Mary Ashcraft's polymer faces. :)~

Karen Garth used all muslin to make her Jennie Rayment piece into our monochromatic challenge.
