July meeting of the Silverdollers

July meeting was held at Los Prados club house thank you Barbara.
Members present were Angie, Micki, Dottie, Maureen, Barbara, Fran, Terri, Mary, Bobbie and Iris. We had two new members present Cohette and Diane there address to follow. We also had Maria Bill as a guest she is my daughter visiting from Elko. Our guest was Charlie Johnston who teaches jewelry making with beautiful crystals.

Vice president Mary called the meeting to order and we went around the table, everyone introduced themselves and told a little bit about themselves and what they like to do and if they teach classes. It was fun learning all the talent we have in this group. Diane told of her historic costuming and brought us lovely fabrics for our trash to treasure.(AND SHE HAS MORE)

Minutes were read to everyone and correction made by Maureen cloth not clay for Wendys class,then approved. The voting on an amendment to the by laws was tabled to be discussed and voted next meeting.

Witches for the Desert Quilters retreat need to be finished by the Sep. meeting. Terri volunteered to help with patterns or faces at her home on August 2. Fran also volunteered to help finish this project at her home during a weekday.

Holly Lobby opening is Aug 16.

Bobbie reported $1729.66 and she is working on a budget.
Our guest Charlie showed us so many of the lovely things she has designed and made using Swarovski crystals, she will be teaching classes at Joann's but also does teaching in peoples home or venus usually about $35. per person. She gave us valuable info on where to buy things like beads from Ernies' discount beads and fishing line from Berkely Pro Outdoorsmen Expo 300 yds for $3.00.

LUNCH

Everyone was asked to bring some examples of the work that they have done to share with our new guests and members. Some of the things shared are:
Colette showed her dolls and her Sallyanne pattern
Bobbie - large mermaid, doll, jester and fairy doll chair
Terri - Humpty Dumpty, witch on bottle, faces, mermaid and chair
Barbara- crocheted hats and purses made for dolls
Mary - painted frame, fairy doll and chair,mermaid
Angie - doll made for her friend, dyed lace doll & beaded mermaid.
Iris - baby doll for Lily grandaugher
Micki - corsets to be made by group Iris 's project, beaded mermaids,& mermaid chair
Dottie - mermaid and hair hint
Maureen- designed woven doll - series of dolls
Fran - doll Queen of jesters to be auctioned off at EDAC, doll that she designed and teaches, mermaid pin cushion, she is teaching class at EDAC
Charlie Feather party would you like to have an outing.
